“Leveraging the automation of RISC Networks’ CloudScape module we were able to collect insightful data we could trust and perform costing scenarios for Black & Veatch’s cloud-forward strategy. The tool also accelerated our understanding of the intricacies of the Black & Veatch environment and helped define the future state.” -Jennifer Jones, Program Manager, Cloud Initiative, Capgemini
Black & Veatch needed to reduce overall IT cost and implement a “cloud-first” strategy to provide a consistent user experience for their growing number of customers. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) required that some VMs be managed onshore. To reduce their data center footprint, they planned to move the majority of their IT infrastructure to the cloud.
“Implementing a cloud-forward strategy will allow Black & Veatch to reinvent cloud-based IT services to drive adoption of cost effective, rapidly provisioned, easy to use, and secure cloud computing solutions to support global project execution and a consistent user experience anytime, anywhere from any device.” – Josh Baden, Cloud Architect, Black & Veatch
- Analyzed ~150 applications (~900) servers to determine cloud suitability using CloudScape module
- Helped client evaluate cloud platform elections (evaluated AWS, Azure, and Google)
